Malachi 3:10
Tithes and free-will Love Offerings enable UCOM’s ongoing operation. Just as with any organization, revenue is required to “keep the lights on,” pay for the facility, utilities, supplies, professional services and everything that is purchased. UCOM is very blessed to have a loving and generous congregation! It is because of these tithes and offerings that we are able to have such a wonderful facility and grounds, professional musicians, special programs and many events.
First recorded in the Bible in Genesis 14 when Abraham took his tithe to his spiritual teacher, Melchizedek, tithing is an ancient spiritual law that simply means we are to return one tenth (10%) of all we receive to the sources of our spiritual “food,” that which inspires, teaches and reminds us of the Truth that feeds our souls. The purpose of the tithe is to acknowledge that God is the source of our good and we are grateful for this good. No matter what the channel of the blessing, God is the source.
God’s Promise
In June 2010, UCOM entered into a three-year capital campaign to garner funds to build our new parking lot, make our second $50,000 mortgage “down payment” and complete other projects. Called God’s Promise, this program has been very successful, both in the funds raised AND in the miracles and blessings that have poured forth from it.
All tithes and offerings, whether for the General Fund, God’s Promise or a specific program, such as YES, music or other project, are greatly appreciated, knowing both the gift and the giver are blessed!
